My name is Michael McKay, and I'm a web developer and photographer. I took a liking to web development because it was the perfect mix of creativity and technicality.

In 2023, I graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in the New Media Design & Web Development program and have learned the full process, beginning from concept design to deployment to maintenance of websites.

I worked at Kitch Components Inc., a modular cabinet system manufacturer for 6 months maintaining their Shopify store and product catalog on their Allmoxy portal.

Since then, I've been polishing my photography skills and have been keeping up with the web development world. I took a big liking to using JavaScript on Google Sheets, creating automations, and learning about the practical uses of AI in my coding projects.

I enjoy the process of designing websites and building them out. The art of CSS and creating designs in Figma are particularly favourites of mine and I often design in my off time.

One of my biggest feats this year was becoming a 2-time award winning photographer. I believe in the importance of being versatile. My skills in photography translate in many ways towards my skills in development.
